American Water Works expects to spend $150 million to $250 million on UV Cryptosporidium disinfection upgrades
To effect the removal or inactivation of microbial contaminants, American Water Works Company, Inc., tells stakeholders in its annual report delivered to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission this week, the EPA has established various rules to improve the disinfection and filtration of drinking water and to reduce consumers’ exposure to disinfectants and/or the by-products of their use in the disinfection process.
