Lucknow Metro touted as first to use ultraviolet rays to disinfect trains
Hindustan Times, Financial Express and Economic Times report the Lucknow Metro is the first metro project in India to use ultraviolet (UV) rays to sanitise train coaches, citing a senior official’s statement. The UP Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) has taken inspiration from the New York Metro’s experiment to sanitise trains with UV lamp rays, it said.
