EPA Issues Clean Water Act Order to Kendallville, IN For Bypassing Ultraviolet Disinfection Lights In Some Steps
Steve Garbacz in the News Sun reports that the EPA has issued Clean Water Act Order against Kendallville, IN for water treatment errors including bypassing UV disinfection process during cleaning secondary clarifiers. The Environmental Protection Agency entered into a consent order with Kendallville in order to address wastewater discharge violations at the city’s plant occurring over the last three years. The 26-page report details four sets of issues that must be addressed or the city could face fines of close to $60,000 per day at maximum.
